Pickleball Is Just the Playground for Adults + Jake Plummer | Former NFL QB & Entrepreneur Pt. 2

Share Your Thoughts!

We’re diving into:
🏓 Why pickleball might just be the playground for adults
😂 The absolutely unhinged games we somehow survived as kids
🤡 The MLP clown controversy because apparently that’s a sentence we have to say

Plus, Jake Plummer joins us for Part 2 to talk functional mushrooms, longevity, what he puts in his own body, and why pickleball has become one of the ways he still gets out there and plays. And yes, somehow we end up discussing what a psilocybin pickleball tournament would look like. Because of course we do.

Also this week: grip pressure advice you'll unfortunately never forget, Costco assholes, speakerphone crimes, and why youth sports can turn perfectly normal adults into people nobody wants to sit next to.

Half insight. Half nonsense. 100% entertainment.

And the studies are out too that paddle sports are great for your brain health. But Lion's main, though, if you're on your lion's main, you focus and clarity, you're gonna be right there. Now, psilocybin, going in there with a you know, psilocybin on a psychedelic journey playing pickleball would be a whole that could be a whole tournament.

Guy

This is Big Dink Energy, the pickleball podcast that's half insight, half nonsense, and all entertainment. If you love pickleball, don't take your stuff too seriously and think a little trash talk makes the game better. Welcome home. This is the place where life and pickleball intersect. We celebrate the chaos, call out the nonsense, and put the fun back in dysfunction. You're either in or you're out. And if you're still listening, you're in. So let's go. Big dink energy starts now. We are a part of a rhythm nation. Thank you, Janet. Hey, listen, listen, listen to our sponsor

Guy

right now. You stop what you're doing, you pay attention. Pickleball people, we need to talk about clothes. I love pickleball, you love pickleball, we love pickleball. But I don't need another giant paddle in the word dink across everything I own, especially on my booty. That looks weird. The Drop gets it. Their first collection launches September 9th. That's coming around the corner like tomorrow with tees and hoodies that are a little vintage, a little street wear, and very pickleball without screaming pickleball. Follow at the drop clothing on Instagram. That's at the underscore drop clothing at the underscore drop clothing on Instagram and check out thedropwear.com. Yeah, I said that, thedropwear.com. And yes, you probably do need another pickleball shirt. Stop playing in your PTA shirt. Sorry, not sorry. So, ladies, I thought we'd have a little fun tonight talking about

Kitchen Talk - Hot takes, weird news, and what’s on our minds this week

Guy

for the kitchen talk segment. Let's go back to being kids for a minute. I mean, I like like a kid all the time, anyhow. So I'm always ready to talk about this kind of stuff. But specifically, what games did we grow did we play growing up? We don't see anymore. You know, the time before uh iPads and video games and uh like recess games, yeah, stuff like that. Maybe even a little board games might slip in here. Okay. Yeah, oh yeah, watch out. It might slip in. The board games that is.

Stephanie

I think for me especially, the one thing I absolutely miss is double dutch. I I loved it. I loved it once I was actually double dutching. Yeah, does that make sense? Like the having to prepare.

Guy

You're talking about ice cream.

Stephanie

The the way you had to like go back and forth, and and I was I'm not patient now. I wasn't patient then, so I got a lot of like ropes to the ankle because I jumped too soon.

Guy

Roped to roped right to the head.

Stephanie

Yep. I just I loved it. It was so much fun.

Guy

Yeah, I think uh all of these are gonna be great because we're gonna have so many uh memories, and there's and there's a lot of core memories in there because a lot of it involved pain as well.

Stephanie

Yeah, oh absolutely, like Red Rover, yeah, like absolutely that that is just everybody just sitting around waiting for somebody to dislocate something. Yeah, yeah, yeah. And like the j the adults were just like, yeah, go ahead. Go have fun with that. Yeah. I mean, it was literally like just clothesline your friend. That was the game. Clothesline your friend. And and you ran top speed.

Guy

Oh, yeah.

Stephanie

If you had your zips on, zip, zip, zip, just if you had your zip shoes on or your Buster Brown, I mean just try to bust through and you would just get clothesline and fall on the ground. Like it was amazing. You know, develop character. They don't do it anymore in schools.

Guy

Speaking of which, you know, one thing I miss, I got some new shoes the other day, and nobody asked me if I how fast I was in them. Yeah, that's right. If they made me fast. And they don't do that anymore.

Paddle Princess

No, you're a little too old for that.

Guy

Yeah. Well, it would have been night. What about you, paddle princess?

Paddle Princess

Some of the ones that I think were super fun were like Maw Madness. I loved Mom Madness, the board game.

Stephanie

Girl talk too.

Paddle Princess

Yes. Girl talk was so much fun. And then I one thing that they should really bring back, just because again, it builds character, is Skip It. Oh, yeah.

Guy

What was Skip It?

Paddle Princess

I think they have it at Walmart.

Stephanie

Do they? I think so.

Guy

Oh, is that though it goes around your ankle? Yeah, that's like some great spin it around like a hula hoop for your ankle, hula hoop jump rope for your ankle.

Paddle Princess

Yes. Knock you out. Next thing you know, you're face down on the floor.

Guy

It makes you look like a cartoon prisoner. Yeah with a ball and chain around you.

Stephanie

Yeah, and I loved Foursquare. Like you wanted to be at the Foursquare was good. And we even started playing that as a family, and we, you know, you it we always created like all these new challenges, like babies where you had to hit it really little, and then like twister and just all sorts of stuff. There was like no real rules, but that was a really fun game.

Guy

Now, for me, now listen, people out there, don't come at me for this. This is my generation. I'm the uh the greatest generation. No. Uh in Gen X, we played Smear the Queer. And if you all don't know what that is, if you're a man uh at my age, uh mid-30s, uh you know what that game was. Whoever had the ball, the whole team was against that person. And you just came for that person. That's right. And and you could throw it, you could throw it to somebody if you wanted to. That's not manly.

Stephanie

I've never even heard of that. Three flies up. We used to play three flies up and handball.

Guy

Yeah.

Stephanie

And we used to, now that I think about it, like of course, dodgeball. That's the best thing.

Guy

Oh my gosh. I mean, definitely show anybody a picture of a dodgeball and tell them they can't smell a picture of a big thing.

Stephanie

Right. You can smell that. And that is hear it. That is certainly a way to, what is it, Darwinism?

Guy

Oh, yeah. And you thought, I mean, you probably everybody heard that, oh yeah, so and so got their eye knocked right out of their socket and dodgeball. Everybody had a story like that in this.

Stephanie

But did you guys ever play army dodgeball? Like so now that I think about it, I don't know, this is not a good game. So everybody would line up against the wall. Yes. And then you would peg them, and if they got hit, then they lost that limb. And they'd put it like behind their back and then you'd lose a leg. I'm like, just like real war. I'm like, this is I mean, it was fun. Right. But you know what I also liked was foosball. I want to get a foosball table. I hated foosball.

Guy

Oh, Bobby Boucher. We don't play that foosball.

Stephanie

I loved it. And but the only thing I didn't like about it is they made the handle spin 360, but that a rule was always like whenever we played, it was like you can't do that.

Guy

No spinners.

Stephanie

No spinners. Exactly. That's the only way to play.

Guy

I want to send that hard plastic ball 113 miles an hour at your goal. And I hope it, I hope it stays on the board. If not, someone's getting a weld.

Paddle Princess

I was always really good at foosball. It's just, I don't know. It wasn't fun for me.

Stephanie

And if you just got jammed in the like gut with one of those things, that was the other thing.

Guy

And as you got older, it wasn't your gut anymore. Stop being your gut.

Stephanie

It was so fun. Those were fun games. Unless you're a big boy.

Guy

Unless you're a big boy.

Stephanie

The card we used to play the card game Millbourne. Never had speed and all that. That was fun.

Guy

Uh kick the can. Kick the can.

Stephanie

Yeah, the can was always fun.

Guy

You'd always find uh because folders still had those giant cans. Everyone in the neighborhood drank Folgers and it was a giant can. And so you just go, and sometimes she would dump out the coffee that's in there all over the counter just to get the can.

Stephanie

We were talking about today at Pickleball, we were playing a uh a drill called Dink Dink Game On. And it just reminded me of like Wayne's World when they were out playing in the street and they drug all their hockey stuff out there, and then they were like car, yeah, game on. Came back. Like just playing in the streets. We used to do that a lot. Yeah. You know, just pick up games and things like that. And I I don't know. May I don't know if kids do that anymore. I mean, our all of our kids certainly don't because we live out in the country and there's nobody out here. But yeah, I mean, just those recessed games, I think they taught a lot of character.

Guy

Uh character, you know. Very big character building. That's a great name for it for it, dude.

Stephanie

Building character for sure.

Guy

Yeah, it it it'll build up uh certain pockets of people, little little sections within your screen.

Stephanie

And tether bowl. If you did not jam your damn fingerball every time, I am still a champ of tether.

Guy

Come at me in the comments. You think you gotta bring it. I am still a champion.

Stephanie

You would come back to class with like freaking ice powder.

Guy

Rope burns on your wrist.

Stephanie

And it was always like, you can't hold it.

Guy

Yeah, no holdies. One of the other ones, my generation, again, don't come for me in the comments unless you're there to support cops and robbers or cowboys and Indians. Yeah, both of those.

Stephanie

Sharks and minnows is what they pretty much call it now.

Guy

Dumb. Uh, I can't uh tell you the amount of perfectly shaped stick guns I had. I mean, when you find even now, even now as a man, if I'm walking on a trail or something like that and I see a stick gun, I'm like, that's a I gotta take it. That's a good stick gun right there. That's a good thing.

Stephanie

And there's been times it's made it back to the car.

Guy

Oh, yeah, yeah, of course. I've got three under the bed right now. Don't come, don't break into my house. You can get poked in the eye.

Stephanie

I just love those pla I just love playground rules. Yeah. Yeah. You know, it's like fend for yourself. Yeah, you know. It will separate some people. It will separate. Yes, it will.

Guy

And we need that. We need that nowadays. Because that was also how you got out some frustration. Like you, you know, you may have been bullied a little bit, but that was your chance to that was your chance, absolutely.

Stephanie

Like you're king of the court now in Foursquare.

Guy

Oh, yeah, it's on.

Stephanie

Yeah, that's what I like about pickleball. I feel like it's our playground now.

Guy

Well, it's it's a sanctioned way for me to throw a ball at your face. Yes, a hundred percent.

Stephanie

And it was like, sorry, we weren't playing dodgeball.

Guy

Uh Wiffle ball was. Oh, wiffle ball. Yeah, our kids, our kids still play wiffle balls. If they get it, if we get out on a trip or something like that, they'll play wiffle ball.

Stephanie

They've been playing like at Thanksgiving too. Like they set up all that stuff and played in the front yard. Nice. That was fun.

Guy

If if I brought one back, it would probably be like capture the flag.

Stephanie

Capture the flag was so fun. I think they still play that. Yeah. My kids play that.

Guy

That's what they do. That's one of the games when when you're doing paintball, is capture the capture the flag.

Stephanie

Okay. But I'll tell you one, and don't come after me in the comments because I don't think they call it this anymore. But Chinese jump rope. It's where you put it the the rubber band.

Guy

That's where it's hard to pronounce.

Stephanie

The rubber band around your ankles, two people, and then you do in, out, side, side, on, in, out, and then it goes higher and higher, and you have to jump in, out, side, side. Yeah, never did that. Never heard of Chinese jump rope? No. Okay, well, they do sell it on Amazon because yes, I bought it. It's not called that anymore, though. No. And I taught the kids how to do it. Fine. And it is so fun.

Guy

Chinese jump.

Stephanie

I would love to know if other people did that Chinese jump rope. I don't know what to do. Yeah, I've never even heard of it. It's probably called like ankle, I don't know, ankle rope fun.

Guy

Oh, yeah. Yeah. By WAMO.

Stephanie

I don't know, but it used to be called Chinese jump rope. Trackball. I'm sure if you I'm sure if you looked it up on AI, it would probably give you a shin.

Guy

We had trackball.

Stephanie

Trackball. We still played trackball.

Guy

Yeah, trackball was good. There's another one I played. It was a rubber, it was a giant rubber band attached to like a it was like a paddle ball. And it had a it was attached to a heavy bass, and you would just paddle the crap out of the ball back and forth in the driveway.

Stephanie

Sounds boring.

Guy

Well, I mean, we had hoop and a stick too. So there you go. We had those but then we had the bikes with a giant wheel on the front. Henry Ford was inventing things. Tell us what you think. What's the game you want to bring back? What's the game you remember? What's the core memory game that has a scar still on your body? Send us a picture of the scar. We don't care. Just The Tip - Pickleball Wisdom

Guy

Just the tip.

Stephanie

Just the tip. Quick pickleball wisdom in and out before you know it. Okay, just the tip this week actually came from our comments. We were talking about popping the ball up and how sometimes you're just gripping the paddle way too damn tight. And Delsa commented that her friend once told her, Just think, would you hold your husband's you that tight?

Guy

Penis.

Stephanie

And I'm thinking, I am never going to forget grip pressure ever again.

Guy

Me neither after that one hospital stay.

Stephanie

Oh my god. Delsa, that was awesome, and that helped me so much.

Guy

Don't G.I. Joe come through grip it.

Stephanie

Great advice.

Guy

Just time for people.

Jake Plummer

And now back to our interview

Pickle Pals - Deep Dive with a Pickleball Court, Club or Influencer

Jake Plummer

with Jake Plummer, round two. If I'm 110 and I'm doing good and my life, I'm 110 and my health span is the same and meeting there, you know, there may be proof there that these worked. And it may not have just been the mushrooms. They are a positive intervention into a healthy, healthier way. And they can also do a lot of different things for all your bodily systems, whether that's through performing or recovering, sleeping, you know, balancing out blood sugar levels, blood pressure. Like we're just finding out that these are something that we should eat as a food group, not necessarily a supplement, but they've been long lost here in Western culture for quite a long time. Mycophobia was real. There was a fear of mushrooms. I don't like to say a fear, I say like a respect, a reverence of mushrooms. Sure. Where you really hold these things and and and take them into account for being one of the first organisms to live on this rock that we live on, and they've survived this long. And they uh countless studies and and not research done with the FDA, but definitely experiential studies done throughout the the globe where there's many, many ways these things help humans function better and possibly hopefully live longer and live healthier. So we started Umbo, and that's where I'm at now, just kind of like four or five years into that. You know, now everybody's talking about mushrooms and not all products are the same. Right. Uh, but at Umbo, we're trying to put a very, very potent, if not the most potent, you know, product in a bottle or in a capsule that you can find on the market. And you know, it's out there for people to try. There's a lot of of good going on in that uh category. For us, it's more just how can we make people feel better? And once they feel better, you you you resonate differently when you face the world. You go out into traffic and you don't yell at people and flip them off and cause rage. And you know, you don't take things so personally, you just float and live at a different level. And if it's not just the mushrooms, it may be that they're helping you, you know, eliminate other things that that may not be suiting suiting you well or or or or helping you function at the highest level. Um yeah, it's been a it's been a fun journey, fun guy journey.

Guy

Man, I love that. I love that. Yeah, and because you know, uh that's why I get so upset. Uh, you know, I'm um I love the United States of Texas. You know, we're huge, humble people out here in Texas, but we get it so wrong on the CBD, we get it so wrong on the hemp. Obviously, it's all political on that side of things. And and and but now we're seeing, you know, studies being done by the military on the effects of CBD for, you know, those sett uh suffering from PTSD and other depressive disorders. And then there was a new study coming out where they're gonna start trying some psilocybin stuff. So really encouraging on that side for those people that are suffering that way, but such a s such a small sliver of society that they're willing to help. I mean, we have so we have such a big mental health crisis going on nationwide, uh, maybe even globally. I just don't pay attention to the to the other side of the world, you know. And and so for the government to just come in and say, nope, we're not doing this, we're not even gonna consider it, keep using all these drugs that we make money off of, it's it's ridiculous. And I think finally, you know, with the things like Chat GPT and all the large language models out there, people are doing their own independent research, and so people are taking back their health care a little bit, which is encouraging. But you know, I love it. I when you say 110 and still active, I I love that kind of talk because we can hack our bodies. Uh it's been proven over and over again that the body, the body wants to act in the in the interest of itself, it wants to preserve itself. If we would just get out of its way sometimes and and stay as natural as possible, it would it would do that.

Jake Plummer

Yeah, I mean, to Texas, you know, they started the Texas Ibogaine Initiative. Uh former Governor Rick Perry and Brian Hubbard and a whole crew of veterans are helping reset opioid receptors in the brain by use of ibogaine. And it's like this is working. It's not like, okay, we need to do a $25 million five-year study. Like you can see it when a veteran is about to pull the trigger, end his life, be gone from this earth, and they go down and take ibogaine in Mexico, which is a sad thing. They have to leave our country. They're medical refugees here in our own free to freedom of uh, you know, everything in the United States. And so when you when they come back, they it it's over. They don't take opioids. And it's like, that's all I need to see. I mean, if I was running the country like, boom, let's go, let's get this thing approved, let's build centers, let's have this done in the right way. It's not a party drug, it's not some high you're getting. This is true healing of mental illness and and and for the people that deserve it the most. You know, I mentioned Pat Tillman earlier. If Pat was around right now, he would be so vocal and pissed off the VA and how we treat our veterans like Jesus Christ, we just shit on them after they go and sacrifice so much and come back injured and and beat up and PTSD. And it's like, there isn't there is a way to heal, and and it's not for everybody. There are definitely people that should stay away, but it's it's responsible. It's being responsible about what you're doing. And it's encouraging when someone on the other side, as you say, or not maybe well-versed or experienced in psychedelics, goes and says, Hey, let's do this. And that's encouraging for me because not only are we in a major, you know, mental health crisis right now, but let's let's look at what we're creating through these these little things and the social media craziness, the kids these days, the youth sports, the pushing, you know, the the grind to make money now at the collegiate level and down into the high school level. Like we're we're not even close to the tipping point of like mental health crisis. And we gotta we gotta we gotta find ways. And it's it takes, you know, uh people of influence. I'm I'm not the most influential human on the planet, but if if Tom Brady and these some of these guys that are that are endorsing Bud Light all the time and and all this crappy food, even the current players that are that are endorsing Taco Bell and McDonald's and Sprite and Pepsi, like shame on you. Really like the amount of inflammation they're putting in people's bodies. Yeah, you're making millions, you're making five, six, seven million a year to play this game, sometimes even more. And you're gonna take a Pepsi commercial and say, Yeah, drink Pepsi and like be influential to all these young kids that look up to you. Their time will come. They will have to answer to the maker of whatever the maker of all of us is. And I'm waiting for that athlete that just endorses like clean water, good sleep, you know, yoga, sleep, yeah, fruits, vegetables. Like, can we get these athletes to really endorse what how they live and how they treat their bodies so that people can start understanding that it doesn't the barrier to entry is is tough. Sometimes it's monetary. Yeah, for sure. You know, where are these athletes in these food deserts in Chicago? Like, are they gonna keep endorsing Gatorade and Doritos? Yeah. That's killing our youth. That's putting them on a track to long-term unhealthy living and and help really serious health problems. So one day, man, one day, I mean, I wish I could go back and be in the league right now and have these thoughts in my head because it would have been fun to like, you know, go find endorsements for and and and speak up for good food, good rest, good water, and like try to help the people live cleaner. You know, it's not that hard, but it is when you live in certain areas. And uh, I've been blessed. My mom taught me well, watch what you put in your body, know what you're doing, don't just put stuff in there. I I stayed away from hardcore drugs. Uh, my main thing was I probably drank too much uh during during seasons after games, you know, but that was it, you know. Maybe smoked a little too much for a period of my life, but otherwise, I'm clean now, no alcohol. I I don't very rarely ever uh indulge or in in partake in marijuana. I hardly even take psychedelic uh microdoses, you know. I I more or less live as clean as I can, and meanwhile enjoy eating a little bag of chips or a donut or some pizza. Eat and enjoy. Everything in moderation. But eat bless it and and eat it and tell your body you're fine. This isn't gonna hurt you. If you're eating it every day, you got a problem. But once in a while, it's all right, man. We we're we're meant to, you know, those hedonistic ways, we you gotta have a little pleasure once in a while.

Guy

That's true. Yeah, because we'll overindulge if we keep it away for too long. And I I love Umbo's credo, we do it together and not at all. And that's exactly what you're preaching right here. We should we we should be doing it all together, we should be pushing all in one direction, you know, longer quality life for everybody. Because you know, you get to that point at 50, 55, 60 where you're like, hmm, I I better start taking care of myself. Well, man, if if you would have just started, you know, back in your twenties or even in your teens, you you'd be at this point now where you're like, okay, I feel pretty good, you know. Yeah. So it's not a good thing.

Jake Plummer

There's something there though for longevity. It's changing. We're gonna if you can you can make it through the next four or five years, listen to many uh, you know, prominent longevity specialists that with AI and with the newfound medicines and the way to tailor things specifically to us. You can make it through the next three, four, or five years, you have a great chance to live over a hundred, maybe even in your hundred and twenties. But you want your health span to be there too. You don't want to be a walking Around in a wheelchair or getting wheeled around to be 110, like yeah, we'll see what happens.

Guy

Oh, yeah, yeah. You definitely want to have a good quality of life while you're enjoying the longevity. So if our listeners, uh and I know they will want to after listening to this, they want to get involved with umbo and and mushrooms and that. What's the you know, like, hey, just dip your toes in and do this and then take your take a further step. What do you what do you recommend?

Jake Plummer

Well, if you go to getumbo.com, we actually have have put out a new you know concept with umbo as team mushrooms. So we're asking uh anybody that wants to join the team to join the team and uh try our products. Let us know how it goes. And if you're part of the team, there'll be a lot of benefits to that, whether that's gifts or discounts or whatever it is, kind of like NIL deals. So we're trying to just build our team of Umbo, team mushroom, people that want to be, you know, do better, feel better, have a positive intervention in their lives. And so if you go to get umbo, I would say our easiest and most popular product are our capsules. And in America, pills pay the bills, and these these capsules are all natural. Our rise capsules have cordyceps and rhodiola and a NAD plus. So like it helps with inflammation and all that. And cordyceps is a vasodilator and and really good for your blood. And then our rest capsules have lion's mane, Rishi, and L-theanine. And Rishi, just a big study just came out. Rishi outperformed melatonin like by three times in its effectiveness. So here's a product that has been pushed on everybody and you see it everywhere: melatonin. And it can help, but it's not good to take it all the time. Your body can produce that itself, and when you're taking it all the time, you're shutting down an internal system that's supposed to be functioning. So Reishi and the sleep capsules are our best seller because a lot of people suffer from bad sleep. So right there, there's an easy way. Two capsules in the morning, two capsules at night. The thing is consistency, trying to take them every day. You know, consistency over time equals results. We have our bars that are really, really good. They're they're uh energy bar, you know, daily bar, whatever you want to say, that have two and a half grams of mushrooms in them. And you won't just have to tolerate this bar before workout. You'll crave it. And it's it's really good, good for you. It's crazy with honey and nuts. Doesn't have a long shelf life, so you're not eating a bunch of preservatives also uh while you're trying to do good for your body. And then we have an extract, a few different extracts, a blend called charge and a blend called Recharge that's good for pre-workout, early in the morning or whatever, in your coffee and then at night to help you just kind of rest, relax, reset your nervous system. And then we have, you know, Rishi, turkey tail, lion's mane, and cordyceps individually extracted into a bottle. And all those extracts are done at the lab I helped get started that I'm part of called Myco Love Farm. So I know how they're being extracted. I know the integrity and the intention behind them. And we're we're getting third-party tests showing that our potency is the same, if not two, three times better than some other brands that people are buying. And uh that's the thing. People just don't know this category very well. And or see a product on the shelf, they buy it thinking that it's, you know, oh, good, I'm getting my mushrooms. But sometimes it may be mycelium on grain, and you're getting more grain than you are mushrooms, and your tummy may hurt, and then you may never want to take them again. So the extraction process and and and looking online and doing your own research is important to find the right brands. But we did start get umbo or started umbo just for the that fact right there is that we didn't want to pixie dust and sprinkle in a little mushrooms and call it a mushroom bar. We put two and a half grams in there, so you're gonna feel it. Eventually, you're gonna notice the difference. And like I said, it takes a little bit of time. We like to think of these as food. So it's a food group that we stopped eating long ago. So just try to find ways to introduce them back into your body. And if you want, we can start a code. I don't know what you want to call do a code for your listeners. Uh, we usually do, you know, 15% off code. So I mean, big dink energy, we could do BDE. Okay. Does that sound good? Yeah. BDE 15 for anybody that wants to go on and use a code to get a little discount. We do also have some great promotions going on right now where you can try a free bar when you order, you know, a subscription to our capsules, and then you can just try some of the products without having to buy a huge, you know, huge VAT of something and that go, oh God, I don't like this. I just wasted 50 bucks. You can try some samples and give it a shot, see how it treats you. The sleep capsules, I will say, most people, the first, second night they take them, are like, wow, those things work. So non-drowsy formula, definitely, you know, it's worth researching, doing your research, and and hear what I say, go look at what I'm talking about. Yeah, you'll see the proofs there that that a lot of sleep aids have a lot of these same things in them. But ours is is working, and that's all we're trying to do. So, anybody out there interested, yeah, dive in, check it out. Watch the movie Vantastic Fungi. That was a phenomenal movie that shows you the history of fungi and mushrooms and and really what we take for granted that's surrounding this entire rock we live on. Yeah, the mycelial network and all that. It's just a beautiful documentary if you're interested. And these things even work for your animals too, man. They're great for your dogs and your cats and your chickens and your pigs, of which I got those running around here on my little farm. And uh nice. Yeah, man, give it a shot. And you know, I mentioned, you know, hedonistic things and pleasure and all that, like pickleball, man. That's what this is all about, right? Yeah, yeah. Pickleball is something that brings me a ton of pleasure. I love playing pickleball. I don't go practice pickleball, I just play pickleball. And that's what this is about. You know, as you're as you're trying to find a game that you you can play that that allows you to play two, three times a week without beating your body up, pickleball has has been a great addition to my my life, meeting a lot of great people. And I do, like you said, getting some of your veteran buddies out. I try to get some former players out because they're banged up and they can't play hoops anymore, or they can't go jump around too much. And but pickleball, they can hit the ball and walk up, stand there, and they got great reflexes and hand dials.

Guy

Oh gosh, yeah. So pretty much.

Jake Plummer

And the studies are out too that paddle sports are great for your brain health and they're great for your brain longevity. So you gotta just try to remember the goddamn scores enough to get your brain brain health in.

Guy

Yeah, you may not want to be on an overdose of mushrooms when you're trying to remember the score of pickleball.

Jake Plummer

But lion's main, though, if you're on your lion's main, yeah, boom, your focus and clarity, you're gonna be right there. Now, psilocybin, going in there with uh, you know, psilocybin on a psychedelic journey playing pickleball would be a whole that could be a whole tournament. I don't think you should do that.

Guy

But if you want to that would be that would be an awesome tournament, just psilocybin tournament of pickleball would be awesome. And have some like some strobe lights going on at the same time.

Jake Plummer

Yeah, that might be a little much, man. Might be a little much. I prefer uh psilocybin to be in the mountains and the trees, but uh, you know, maybe maybe one day. But yeah, there's there's a lot of joy to be had on the court. It's a great game from you know, I played with 78, 80 year olds all the way down to 12, 13 year olds and had a great time. That's a great you can't say that about many sports.

Guy

That's right. That's right. Jake, man, thanks so much. So one more time, the website everybody needs to go to. Getumbo.com.

Jake Plummer

Guy

Man, that announcer has such a great voice. I'm glad we hired him. Pick Six Tonight. This is where we take one

Pick 6 ( 1 question and 6 answers)

Guy

question and each bring two answers and immediately regret to this segment. Pick six tonight is things that turn normal adults into complete a-holes. Things that turn normal adults into complete a-holes. I could have gone on and on with this one.

Stephanie

My first one's gonna be youth sports.

Guy

Yeah.

Stephanie

Okay. Like when they parents of youth sport athletes immediately turn into somebody I definitely don't like.

Paddle Princess

Mine is gonna be just basic road rage. Like, why are you driving in my the trunk of my car? Now I'm gonna be an asshole, and now you're gonna be in the trunk of my car. Like, that's how that's gonna work.

Guy

One of mine was people going slow in the left lane.

Stephanie

Drives me nuts.

Guy

Listen, we're in Texas people. That lane is ridiculous.

Stephanie

So that turns you into an asshole. Yes. No. Turns almost everyone.

Guy

This is what I'm a calm, collected, speed-abiding driver.

Stephanie

So you think that turn people turning in the left. That turns me into an eight-hole, of course. Okay, that's it. I think it turns most people over.

Guy

Get you a bit out of that lane. Unless you are uh going faster than me, get out of that land. Stop regulating my speed.

Stephanie

Yep. I would say Costco on Saturday. Oh, yeah. Yeah. Those people. They I I don't know if they are like on a time limit or a time crunch, but it's like they be hitting your ankles with those palette carts.

Paddle Princess

Yes.

Stephanie

Yeah. Because they are just in such a hurry, trying to get to their free samples or something.

Paddle Princess

Too many people. Too many people. Mine is going to be at this age. Let me let me explain a little bit. The older I get, the more hangry I get. So I think like as grown adults, once we hit that hunger part, we're just complete assholes. Like, I need food now. I need food now. Yeah.

Guy

Yeah. For me, my biggest one is speaker phone in public.

Stephanie

Oh.

Guy

Speaker phone. And now, and maybe these are just things that turn me into a wrong thing.

Stephanie

You turned this into the wrong thing.

Guy

No, it isn't. No, I I'm a person. What? Recognize it.

Stephanie

I mean, that I don't like that either. And especially if they're in a bathroom stall. That happens a lot, actually.

Guy

There was a guy in the credit union lobby when I was doing some business in there.

Stephanie

No.

Guy

Yes. Full. Like I was over at the cashier counter and he was sitting in the lobby area, and we all looked over at him. He's just oblivious. Oblivious. Tell us what you got. Things that turn normal adults into complete buttholes or a-holes, like uh leaving your phone on when uh you've been told to silence it.

Stephanie

That's my son. I gotta answer it. Hello. Do you have your dad's card? You can use it for no okay, bye.

Guy

All right. Get all up in our comments. Things that turn you into a complete a-hole, apparently, for me. Attention,

News You Can Use

Guy

attention, Mr.

Stephanie

and Mrs. America and all ships at sea. Listen up now. So before you drop top dollar on front row sports tickets, you might want to check if you're share in a row with competitive clowns. Major League Pickleball is facing a massive fan backlash after paying spectators at the MLP playoffs in Central Park were forced out of their premium front row seats. Now, the reason? To make room for Gary V's New Jersey Fives hype squad, fully dressed in clown gear.

Guy

It was awesome.

Stephanie

So displaced fans took to social media reporting they were pushed back to the third row, completely blocking their view of the match against the Brooklyn Aces. Even worse, fans say the clown squad was stomping on the metal bleachers so violently that the grandstands felt physically unsafe. Here is what some of the pickleball community was saying. I paid a premium for front row views, not to stare at the back of a clown costume. Unacceptable for the from the MLP. Another was they were stomping so hard the bleachers were shaking. It felt totally unsafe for families trying to watch the game. And the last one, Gary V's marketing gimmicks shouldn't override the ticket rights of paying customers. This is a total joke. So the takeaway for you, if you're booking tickets to an MLP event, check the team schedule. You might want to buy seats opposite the player bleachers to avoid the clown zone disruption. But what are your guys' thoughts?

Guy

First, I didn't see enough of the story to know. Did they have like the squirting flowers uh on the jacket? Because that's really that's pro clown move for me.

Stephanie

I the thing I like about MLP is all the hype. Yeah. I do love that. Okay.

Guy

Listen, however, you're not at the US Open here.

Stephanie

However, if I bought front row seats, I would be pissed.

Guy

No, they you didn't buy front row seats. You brought second row seats because the clowns were front row.

Stephanie

No, they bought these tickets back in December. When they got there, they said, Oh, you're not sitting there, you need to sit in the third row.

Guy

Now that's a problem. That's exactly that.

Stephanie

That is what happened. Yeah. And so I do, I don't, I don't like that. I don't like that either. If you're going to to have those people, great, announce that that's where they're going to be, like the splash zone. Like if you sit in the splash zone at SeaWorld, you don't complain that you got wet.

Guy

You're going to get Worka poop on you.

Stephanie

If you sit in the the clown side bleachers, if it's known, then don't complain. But I don't think this was known. And then, you know, I love the cheering. I love all of that. So I don't ever want that to go away. That's what makes the MLP fun. But I do think when people pay for something and they and they're thinking they're going to get that seed, they should get it.

Guy

The picture I saw also, they were standing up. They got their full clown ass wig on.

Stephanie

They pretty much stay wanting their view. Yeah. I think they couldn't see that. I think what is missing, and I'm I put this here, okay? So when it actually happens, it's in prediction corner. It's in prediction corner, cheerleading squad.

Guy

Oh I'm all for it.

Stephanie

I am all for it. And even if it's not like your typical cheerleaders, if like it's the clowns, that's fine. But let's have a place for them like you do for the cheerleader. You know, let's have them down on the field or down. You know what I'm saying? This is this is why I love the MLP. Have a hype team area, just like they do in basketball and football and all of those things. 100%. I agree. But it shouldn't be in front of the view of the spectators who paid to be there.

Guy

No, displacing me when I bought a premium ticket is wrong, number one. These clowns, pun intended, should go to the back row. If you want to be up there, and it's it's a first, you know, first time we don't have the hype team thing figured out yet.

Stephanie

Yeah, that's it. Put them in the back.

Guy

They're still gonna make a spectacle of themselves.

Stephanie

I I I'm thinking it's just some growing pains. That's I don't knowing how Gary V is about business and everything, right? I I doubt that that's what he anticipated or wanted or any of those things. I think it just happened to be that way and happened to work out that way. Yes, it sucks. Yes, they should get some type of you know recompense. Recompense. And I think moving forward, let's make a little area for them. I love it.

Guy

This is why I like this is why I like the MLP over PPA or anybody else. This is this is what it's all about. I want I want beer hats. I I want you know, t-shirt cannons, uh, I want that kind of stuff. And clowns, of course. You know, I like to see your size 32 shoes. I mean, that's what I'm all about. I want you to roll up in a car and 40 of you get out. You know what I mean?

Stephanie

I want to see handkerchiefs for 37 minutes come out of your pocket.

Guy

Yeah, that's right. I want to see your tie curl up at the bottom.

Stephanie

I want to see you pull something out of my ear.

Guy

Yeah.

Stephanie

If you want us to keep going, y'all are a lot messed.

Paddle Princess

Oh my gosh. We're done. We're done.
